Tanzanian star Juma Jux is continuing a strong international run, securing two honours at the 2026 AFRIMMA Awards before announcing plans to take his music across the United States this November.

Tanzanian singer Juma Jux has added another major chapter to his international career after winning two awards at the 2026 African Muzik Magazine Awards (AFRIMMA) in Dallas, Texas.

The singer took home the AFRIMMA Music Without Borders Award, while his collaboration with fellow Tanzanian star Diamond Platnumz, Joy, won Best Collaboration.

The official AFRIMMA winners list confirms both honours.

The awards were presented during AFRIMMA’s return to Dallas on 12 September 2026, bringing together artists and creatives from across Africa and its diaspora. Jux’s double recognition came during a year in which East African music has continued to expand its reach beyond regional audiences.

Following the announcement, Jux thanked the supporters who have followed his career through streams, votes, social-media engagement and continued support for his music. He described the awards as belonging to the community that has backed him throughout his journey.

The recognition is particularly significant for an artist whose music has increasingly travelled between Tanzania, East Africa, West Africa and the wider African diaspora. The Music Without Borders Award reflects that growing international footprint, while the Best Collaboration honour once again highlights the commercial and creative connection between Jux and Diamond Platnumz.

But the AFRIMMA victories were not the only announcement.

Jux also revealed that he will embark on a United States tour in November 2026. At the time of publication, individual cities, venues and dates had not yet been released, with further details expected from the artist and his team.

The tour announcement comes as Jux continues to build a profile far beyond Tanzania. Earlier in 2026, he also won Best Male Artiste in Eastern Africa at the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) — a separate awards organisation from AFRIMMA — further marking what has become a notable year for the singer.

For East African music, Jux’s latest achievements are also part of a wider story. Artists from Tanzania, Kenya, Uganda and neighbouring countries are increasingly reaching audiences far outside their home markets, while collaborations between East and West African artists continue to make those borders less important.

From Dallas to a forthcoming U.S. tour, Juma Jux appears determined to keep widening that map.

The next question is where the November tour will take him — and which cities will be added when the full schedule is revealed.
